“Hataw” in English means to give one’s all – to give one’s best performance. This group brings together professional dancers, singers, musicians, multi-disciplinary artists, and community dancers from Filipino folkdance troupes across North America. Founded in August 2014 by Jodinand Aguillon and Crista Aguinaldo, their history with traditional Filipino Folk Dance has been the inspiration to bringing them to where they are now.
Jodee was formerly the Co-Artistic Director of the Philippine Barangay Performing Arts society in Alberta and a Fiesta Filipina Dance Troupe Alumni. Crista was the Choreographer, Musician and performing artist for the Fiesta Filipina Dance Troupe, who is the granddaughter of Founder George Aguinaldo and Executive Director, Estring Aguinaldo.
