Gen Huang’s tale is of a true love that transcends cross-cultural borders. In 2007, she started Philtai: The Voice, a platform for Filipinos in Taiwan to connect with others that are also living there.
Together with the Filipino-Taiwanese community, they raise money to assist the people of Lubo, a small town in a mountainous region, accessible only by foot or steed. There, they started a program to feed malnourished children, provide school supplies and even toys to inspire and encourage children of the town.
