Dead End Drive In

Bolstered by aggressive guitar riffs and gut-wrenching gangers, Dead End Drive-In are a punk rock five-piece from Vancouver, Canada. Taking after such acts as Titus Andronicus, Diarrhea Planet and The Replacements, this band has no problem mixing meaningful lyrical content with relentless lead lines. Chock-full of feedback, finger tapping and heart-pounding hooks, one reviewer wrote that “their punk edge will grab ya and pull you in.”

Formed in 2014 by Matt Earle (vocals/guitar), Angus Lee (guitar/vocals) and Sam Hawkins (bass), the band brought on Brandon Speight (guitar/vocals) and Joel Panas (drums) to flesh out their incendiary sound. Quickly recording their first EP, B-Movies, Dead End Drive-In established themselves as an exciting local act. By 2016, the band’s upbeat brand of punk rock was becoming bigger, better, and more intricate. Adding fuel to the fire, they followed up their initial release with two new EPs: 2015’s Mating Rituals and 2016’s Spray Me Down. These ten tracks, which were once described as “channeling raw energy through melody-driven music,” would help fortify their sound and enthralling live set.

Fast forward to the summer of 2017: Dead End Drive-In embarks on a Western Canadian tour, playing a dozen dates between Manitoba and BC. Performing in front of hundreds of new faces, the two week trip was enough to convince them that there was an audience out there for the taking. What with their first full length album on the way – entitled Mea Culpa – these guys are itching to get back on the road. Setting their sights on America’s West Coast – a three week tour is currently being booked for late October – Dead End Drive-In hopes to make a hell of a lot of noise the second half of 2018
